I have liked Russ Chatham's work since I first 'discovered' him in an early Gray's Sporting Journal - his Great Duck Misunderstanding.
He can write and he can paint - very well. He is a fisherman. I may have every book he authored that was published, including a little book - Striped Bass on the Fly - that was published by Examiner Special Projects in 1977.
Here is a short video done recently.
An Unusual Perspective

One year ago yesterday I walked into Russ's gallery in Livingston for the first and last time. Good fortune in timing, something I rarely enjoy, dropped me in Montana just 3 weeks before the gallery closed its doors. What started as a "something I'd like to do while we're there" turned into the highlight of the trip. My only regret was lacking enough money to take home a really fine piece of his work.
