Cody gets something done

In early January I put Cody in the capable hands of professional trainer/handler  Sheldon Twer of Oakdale, California. Over the last year and half I have worked hard to develop Cody as a field trial prospect and wanted him to have a good chance to be successful.

Sheldon called me yesterday to tell me that, in his first real trial, Cody won the open derby stake at the Oregon Shooting Dog Championship with a great ground race and a chukar find.

Next stake that Cody will run is the National Chukar Championship Derby Classic on March 26th.

I am pleased - bloodlines and the hard work is starting to payoff.

Wonderful! Cody is a sweet dog and it's great to see him doing so well in the field. I look forward to seeing him in Oregon this fall.

Congratulations, Mike + Cody!

I hope to be enjoying the same kind of elation in a year or so -- these past few days I watched my pup's mother, Rita, finish a two-hour grouse trial with plenty of gas in the tank and it makes me really excited about the future for Jake, too.

all best
