A truly miserable dog

Here's Rosie, looking very unhappy with her new footgeat. But she got used to them quickly and the Lewis boots did the trick - no foot problems.

Nice, Pete! In the northeast, I mostly use the Lewis boots to protect an already-cut foot -- and they work wonders in helping recovery. Having said that, watching my dog gaiting like a Big Lick walking horse while he got used to the extra weight on the ends of his feet (and I put them on in pairs when I'm trying to protect a single cut foot) was pretty amusing.

Pete: are you using electrical tape over vet wrap? I have found that in the damp NE, using just athletic tape like they recommend, you'll lose a boot in the mud. I've heard of folks using duct tape over vet wrap, too.

Andrew, I used duct tape, ripped down the middle to give a narrower strip. That held without any slippage at all. But I like the idea of electrical tape. It would stretch and conform better than the duct tape.

Watching a dog get used to boots around the truck while gearing up to hit the field is one of the most hilarious moments in all of hunting.
